HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-23-94 Community & Economic Development atommfttut Soot t: Community and Economic Development go the Common Council of the tits of bouth 140: The May 23, 1994 meeting of the Community and Economic Development Committee was called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member Roland Kelly at 4:38 P.M.in the Council informal meeting room. Persons in attendance included Council Members: Kelly, Coleman, Luecke, Ladewski, and Puzzello, Duda, Slavinskas, Washington, Zakrzewski; Maureen Dabrowiak, Gretchen Bolan, Don Porter, Kenneth Fedder, Michael Beitzinger, Leo Priemer,Joseph Piscione, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. The first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 94-47, which is a three year real property tax abatement request for the properties commonly known as 421 S. Main and 201 W. Monroe. Mr. Michael Beitzinger reviewed the Economic Development Report dated May 16, 1994 (copy attached). Mr. Leo Priemer spoke on behalf of this project. The building is the former White Radiator Building. They plan to renovate the building inside and repave the parking lot. Two new jobs would be created. It is located in a tax impact area. Council Member Ladewski made a motion to send this Bill to the Council favorably, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. The motion carried. The Committee the reviewed Resolution No. 94-48, which is a ten year real property tax abatement request for the property commonly known as Toll Road Industrial Park, Lot 15. Mr. Michael Beitzinger reviewed the Economic Development Report dated May 16, 1994(copy attached). Mr. Joseph Piscione made the presentation for Midwest Embroidery Developers Limited Partnership. Council Member Lee Slavinskas made a motion to send this to the Council favorably, seconded by Council Member Ladewski.The motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 4:50 P.M.
