Re: A SPECIAL RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA COMMEMORATING
AND CELEBRATING THE LIFE AND PUBLIC SERVICE OF
CONGRESSWOMAN JACKIE R. W ALO RS KI
Dear Council Members:
As we all know, Congresswoman Jackie Walorski and three others were
tragically killed in an automobile accident on August 3 , 2022.
Congresswoman Walorski is probably best known for passionately
representing her constituents from this area in both the Indiana House of
Representatives and later, in the United States House of Representatives.
Jackie's service to others went far beyond her governmental service. Notably,
she and her husband, Dean Swihart, spent years in Romania as missionaries
and established a foundation to provide medical supplies and attention for
underprivileged children of Romania.
Please place this Special Resolution on the agenda for the full Common
Council meeting on August 22, 2022, under "Special Business".
