HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-24-94 Personnel & Finance t Committ** Ztport: Personnel and Finance Committee go the Common Countil of tfj# City of goutb i*n : The October 24, 1994 meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee was called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member Sean Coleman at 4:00 p.m. in the Council informal meeting room. Persons in attendance included Council Members: Washington, Luecke, Kelly, Puzzello, Coleman, Slavinskas, Zakrzewski, Duda, and Ladewski; Jeff Rinard, John Oxian,Gretchen Bolin,Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. Council Member Coleman noted that the main item to be discussed is Bill No. 92- 94 which would appropriate $111,444.00 from Project Relief. Mr. Jeff Rinard made the presentation. He noted that the City needs between 50 to 60 individuals to operate the program. Last year wages ran between $5.00 to $5.25 per hour. At that rate only 20 individuals applied. For experienced individuals from last years program the wage rate was increased to $5.75 to $6.00 per hour. Mr. Rinard noted that CCDF is being paid back at approximately$30,000.00 per year however the City would like to increase that amount for an earlier payoff. $225,000.00 must be paid back with approximately $115,000.00 remaining. Council Member Ladewski questioned the equipment repair figure of$35,215.00 and it was noted that better tracking is now in place then in the past. Council Member Luecke also noted that significant repairs to the Leaf-Vacs will extend the life approximately an additional 5 to 6 years and that this is part of the cost. Council President Puzzello noted that she believes that the program is much more visible this year. In response to a question raised by Council Member Zakrzewski it was noted that individuals for the program are found in response to the legal ads and also the posting at various places throughout the City. Following further discussion, Council Member Luecke made a motion, seconded by Council Member Ladewski,that Bill No. 92-94 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed.
