HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-14-93 Zoning & Vacation Committee Report ZONING AND VACATION COMMITTEE To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: The June 14, ; 1993, meeting of the Zoning and Vacation Committee was :called to order by its' Chairperson, Council Member Lee Slavinskas, at 4:15 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting Room. Persons in attendance included Council Members Luecke, Washington, Kelly, Puzzello, Slavinskas, Zakrzewski, Coleman, Duda, Ladewski; Mike Dansch, John Byorni, Don Porter and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. Council Member Slavinskas noted that the first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 26-93 which is a rezoning request for the South side of Jackson Road, East of Ironwood Road. Mr. Mike Dansch made the presentation. He noted that this is a PUD consisting of three hundred (300) acres and a One Hundred Million Dollar Project. There will be nine hundred and eighty-two. (982) condominium and duplexes built and an additional eleven hundred (1, 100) single family homes. He then showed copy of the "Staffordshire Estates" preliminary development site plan (copy attached) . Mr. John Byorni of the Area Plan staff noted that the original zoning for the site had expired. Originally, in 1989, there was a favorable recommendation and again it comes to the Council with a favorable recommendation. Following further discussion, Council Member Coleman made a motion, seconded by Council Member Puzzello, that Bill No. 26-93 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed.
