HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-25-93 Zoning & VacationP ZONING AND VACATION COMMITTEE The October 25, 1993 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation Committee was called to order by its Chairperson Council Member Lee Slavinskas at 5:45p.m. in the Council and Formal meeting room. Persons in attendance include Council Members Luecke, Washington, Kelly, Puzzello, Slavinskas, Zakrzewski, Coleman, Duda, and Ladewski; Larry Magliozzi, Georg Herendeen, Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. Council Member, Slavinskas Slavinskas noted that the first item on the a g enda was to review Bill ll No. 84-93 which would vacate ' w property located on Tucker Drive just west of Kaley Street. Mr. George Herendeen, the Attorney for the petitioner, Steel Warehouse Company Inc. made the presentation. He noted that the overall purpose of the vacation was to allow the petitioner to continue to use the property as it has in the past. He then showed maps of the area and question to the Committee. Council Member Slavinskas noted that there was a resolution of the Board of Public Works dated in 1991 allowing the petitioner to use the area in question. Following further discussion Council Member Coleman made a motion, seconded by Council Member Puzzello, that Bill No. 84-93 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. I'I The Committee than reviewed Substitute Resolution No. 93-84 which is the written Fiscal plan and policy for an area in German Township "Shively-Demaegt Anaxation" Mr. Larry Magliozzi made the presentation. He noted that the area in question incorporates a new legal description and showed a map of the area to the Committee. He noted that the Water Commissioners, Waste Water Board, and Board of Public Works reviewed the new area and all voted in favor of the plan. Following further discussion Council Member Coleman made a motion, seconded by Council Member Washington, that Substitute Resolution No. 93-84 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. The Committee then reviewed Substitute Bill No. 82-93 which is the Annexation Ordinance for the area east of Mayflower Road between Brick and Cleveland Roads in German Township commonly referred to as the Shively-Demaegt Anaxation. Mr. Magliozzi noted that the area in, question again has a new legal description consistent with the Fiscal plan just reviewed by the Committee. The area includes 140.9 acres Zoning and Vacation Committee Ocotber 26, 1993 Page 2 which is a correction of the prior acreage given to the Committee at their last meeting. Following further discussion Council Member Coleman made a motion, seconded by Council Member Washington, that Substitute Bill No. 82-93 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed.
