VPA Athletic Court Renovations – Phase 2
DATE: August 2, 2022
Change Order No. 1 addresses over-runs in #53 stone backfill and edge grading around the
new basketball courts. The project scope called for the cross-slope of the courts to be adjusted
from north-south to east-west to accommodate installation of a new drainage structure at the
west end of the courts.
The estimated quantities included in the contract were not sufficient, as more earthwork was
required to achieve positive drainage towards the new drainage structure. The added earthwork
also resulted in more edge grading required to achieve smooth traversable surface around the
court.
