UTILITIES COMMITTEE
To the Common Council of the City of South Bend:
The March 22 , 1993 meeting of the Utilities Committee was
called to order by Vice Chairperson Council Member Eugene
Ladewski at 4 : 05 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting Room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members: Duda,
Ladewski, Puzzello, Coleman, Slavinskas, and Luecke; Don
Porter and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
Council Member Ladewski noted that in the absence of Council
Member Zakrzewski that he would move ahead with the meeting.
The main item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 93-29
which is a Resolution regarding the use of surplus bond
proceeds from the Sewage Works Revenue Bonds of 1989 . It
was noted that there was no presenter from the City
Administration present.
Council Member Slavinskas stated that it is his
understanding that a surplus of $520, 000. 00 remains unspent
from the 1989 Sewage Works Revenue Bond issue. A press
conference held this morning, which he attended with the
Mayor, it was noted that drainage problems affecting Erskine
Plaza, Chippewa Street, and the Erskine Golf Course would be
addressed with a portion of those funds.
Following discussion, Council Member Puzzello made a motion,
seconded by Council Member Slavinskas, that Resolution No.
93-29 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion
passed.
There being no further business to come before the
Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 4 : 15 p.m.
