Regulations pertaining to the Historic Preservation Commission are found in Chapter 21 (Zoning), South Bend Municipal Code and Chapter 26 of the St. Joseph County Code. The issuance of this certificate does NOT in any manner, release the recipient from the responsibility of complying with the requirements of the zoning ordinances, building codes, safety codes, ADA or other requirements of the City of South Bend, the County of St. Joseph, the State of Indiana, or the United States Federal Government. In the rear of the house, and the front of the garage, there are additions and/or bump outs that do not match the siding and trim of the original house, It is my intention to install new cedar lap siding and trim, matching original siding, so that it is cohesive with the aesthetic of the original house. I have attached photos of the damaged siding and gutters, the buildout sunroom over what was an old deck stoop (cheaper siding and materials were used‐doesn’t match original), and the bump out I. The front of the garage (I believe it is made of plywood). The buildout sunroom will have new cedar lap siding and trim, beads board soffits that match original soffits on house. The garage bump out will be framed out with new trim and have a few boards of cedar siding above the garage door. I hope this helps.
