SUBJECT: COUNCILMAN HENRY DAVIS SOUNDING THE ALARM DATE: FRIDAY, JULY 15, 2022 CONTACT: COUNCILMEMBER HENRY DAVIS, JR., HDAVIS@SOUTHBENDIN.GOV, 574-300-5241 _____________________________________________________________________________________ COUNCILMAN DAVIS SOUNDING THE ALARM (South Bend, IN) Councilman Henry Davis, Jr., will be joined with members of the council and community residents to express their displeasure with the Sterling Group who manages Heritage Place at Lasalle Square located at 3224 Ardmore Trail. The press conference will take place outside of the property at 11:00 AM, July 15, 2022. The Heritage Place property only has one elevator for over 70 senior residents. The elevator has been out of service for two months and also out of compliance per state and city code. The Sterling Group has been extremely slow to respond citing problems with the manufacturer and supply issues. “Regardless of what has occurred with the manufacturer and management company, the residents do not deserve to be treated in this manner. The residents need their elevator for mobility purposes. We are one step away from a tragedy. We need action now”, says Councilman Davis, Jr. Davis said he has been working with the County Building department and South Bend Fire Department along with the state fire marshall to get some answers but the elevator is not operational. All media is requested to attend. Councilman, Henry Davis Jr. 2nd District, City of South Bend, Indiana ###
