The bidders ranked as follows: Bidder Total Base Bid Amount 1. HRP Construction Inc. $2,198,945.00 2. Green Demolition Contractors Inc. $3,373,315.00 3. Indiana Earth Inc. $5,494,604.30 Engineering found a minor calculation error in line 5 of Indiana Earth’s bid. The submitted line 5 total read $144,849.15, whereas the given unit price applied to the correct quantity should have read $144,879.45. There was also an -$0.10 addition error in Indiana Earth’s bid total. These calculation errors are corrected in the submitted bid tab and result in a total change in bid amount of +$30.40. This correction has no effect on the low bidder or placement of bids. A deductive alternate to the project was included in the bid with the ability to remove all tree-related work from the project. Engineering recommends rejection of this alternate, and award of the base bid only. All bidders were found responsive and responsible. Engineering recommends award of the Base Bid to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, HRP Construction Inc, in the amount of $2,198,945.00. Engineering recommends rejecting all other bids. The Department of Public Works is requesting the Board approve this award subject to the appropriation of funds on June 27th by the Legal Department. Funds are sourced from the Liability Insurance Fund (Fund #226-04-405-412-436000--PROJ00000226) (Requisition #PR-00015473). Please respond with any questions.
