HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-12-91 Zoning & Vacation (gmmutitter ittpor# yam, Zoning and Vacation Committee Mu the (tom= Moaned of the Utttt of*oath limb: The August 12, 1991 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation Committee was called to order by its Chairperson Council Member Lee Slavinskas at 4:02 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting Room. Persons in attendance included Council Members Zakrzewski, Duda, Coleman, Luecke, Niezgodski, Soderberg, Puzzello, and Slavinskas; John Leszczynski, David Fritz, Bob Gato, Joanne Harper, John Byorni, Jon Hunt, Mike Dobson, Ken Fedder, Don Porter, Bob Wilson, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. Council Member Slavinskas noted that the purpose of the meeting was to continue the discussion on Bill No. 29-91 which is a proposed rezoning of the property located at the Southwest corner of Ewing Avenue and Ironwood Roads. The proposed rezoning is requested to change the zoning to "C" Commercial "E" Height and Area. Mr. Ken Fedder, the attorney for the petitioner stated that the substitute bill would be subject to a final site plan and a written commitment. He noted that the total project is deintensified with only the convenience store and bays being utilized. As a result, the proposed car wash will not be constructed. A copy of the revised preliminary site plan was then shown to the committee. Mr. Fedder noted, that the new substitute bill would be filed with the Clerks office prior to this evenings meeting. In response to a question raised by Council Member Zakrzewski it was noted that if the proposed rezoning is acted upon favorably, that the project would begin in thirty (30) to forty-five (45) days with completion set for December 1 to December 15. Mr. John Byorni of the Area Plan Staff stated that the staff has reviewed the proposed revisions and that they have no overall problems with this revised proposal. Council Member Slavinskas noted that he met with concerned residents and Mr. Dobson after the last committee meeting. All of the overall concerns of the residents have been met and a twenty-four foot residential buffer has been incorporated into the total project. Following further discussion Council Member Coleman made a motion seconded by Council Member Luecke that substitute bill No. 29-91 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed.
