HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-08-91 Zoning & Vacation fllnmmittre, Srpart ZONING AND VACATION COMMITTEE inn tl�e Unman Qlounrtt of the OitR of l'uutil Ninth: The April 8, 1991 Meeting of the Zoning and Vacation Committee was called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member Lee Slavinskas at 5:18 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting Room. Persons in attendance included Council Members Zakrzewski, Ladewski, Puzzello, Duda, Niezgodski, Luecke, Soderberg, and Slavinskas; John Byroni, Don Porter, William Lainey, Chris Matteo, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. Council Member Slavinskas noted that the first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 13-91 which is a rezoning for the properties located at 1112, 1118, and 1122 South Ironwood Drive. The property owners are Dr. John F. Powell, Dr. Brian Moloney, and Dr. Gerald Myers. They are desiring to have the property rezoned from "A" Residential A-Heightened Area to "B" Residential B-Heightened Area. Mr. William Lainey then reviewed these requests for rezoning. He noted that at the March 28, 1991 meeting with the Board of Zoning Appeals, that the setback variance was granted to allow 11 parking spaces. The overall purpose is for the development of the professional doctors office. Mr. Byorni of the Area Plan Commission noted that the petitioners would improve the alley and install necessary driveways. Following further discussion, Council Member Luecke made a motion seconded by Council President Niezgodski that Bill No. 13-91 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed. The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 19-91 which requests the vacation of the first North/South alley east of Frances Street in Hull's Subdivision. Mr. Chris Matteo gave the presentation. He noted that the vacation was necessary in conjunction with the Lafayette Square Townhouses. Council Member Puzzello complimented Mr. Matteo with regard to his development within the inner city. Following further discussion, Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion seconded by Council Member Luecke that Bill No. 19- 91 be recommended favorably to Council.
