HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-10-90 Personnel & Finance ltnmmlttrt &port PERSONNEL AND FINANCE COMMITTEE btu the Cm= Qloutuil of the Otttg of Onut1 Beni: The December 10, 1990 meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee meeting was called to order by it's Chairperson, Council Member Ann Puzzello at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Informal Meeting Room. Persons in attendance included Council Members Luecke, Coleman, Duda, Niezgodski, Slavinskas, Soderberg, Voorde, and Puzzello; George Herendeen, Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. Council Member Puzzello noted that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss Bill No. 109-90 which would address the amounts of benefits to be received by surviving spouses of deceased police officers and firefighters. Ann Puzzello then reviewed the Bill. She noted that this was the second step in the Council's committment to the surviving spouses to increase their pension benefits. She noted that last year the benefit level was raised to 35% and that this year the benefit level would be raised to 40%, effective January 1, 1991. Council Member Slavinskas noted that the budget for 1991 included funding at the 40% level. Following favorable discussion, Council Member Coleman made a motion seconded by Council Member Voorde that Bill No. 109-90 be recommended favorable to Council. The motion passed.
