The October 22, 1990 meeting of the Human Resources and
Economic Development Committee was called to order at 5:20
p.m. by its Chairperson, Council Member Stephen Luecke.
Council Members in attendance included, Luecke, Zakrzewski,
Soderberg, Voorde, Niezgodski, Puzzello, Coleman and Duda.
Others in attendance were Don Porter, Hedy Robinson, Ernest
Szarwark and Joseph Cassidy.
Hedy Robinson presented the report of the Department of
Economic Development concerning the application of Boliden
Metech, Inc. for a five year personal property tax
abatement. The company proposes to buy new machinery which
will expand their ability to reclaim and recycle industrial
precious metals such as contained in electronic circuit
boards. It was 'noted that the property in question meets
the requirements for the tax abatement. Mr. Szarwark and
Mr. Cassidy presented additional information about the
company's operations and answered Council Member's
questions.
Following further discussion, Council Member Voorde made a
motion, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski, that
Resolution No. 90-60 be sent to Council with a favorable
recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the
Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 5: 30 p.m.
