Agenda: Bill No. 22-11—Resolution in Support of Academic Freedom
Committee Chair Troy Warner called to order the Community Relations Committee meeting
at 5:20 p.m.

Bill No. 22-11
Committeemember Eli Wax stated that Bill No. 22-11 is beyond the scope of the Committee and
Council.
Committeemember Eli Wax made a motion to table Bill No. 22-11. Chair Troy Warner seconded
the motion,which carried by a voice vote of four(4)ayes.
Committeemember Lori K. Hamann apologized to Council, as this version of the Bill is not the
Substitute to be brought forth.
Councilmember Henry Davis Jr. stated that this sets a dangerous precedent for Council. There
should not be a culture where people do not feel valued in their job.
Councilmember Canneth Lee stated this is the wrong version of the Bill, so it is okay to table it.
Committeemember Lori K. Hamann stated that she should have had the opportunity to express
that before the motion was put forth.
