The October 10, 1988 meeting of the Personnel and Finance .
Committee was called to order by its Chairperson Council
Member Ann Puzzello at 4:25 p.m. in the Council informal
meeting room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members: Luecke,
Niezgodski, Soderberg, Puzzello, Slavinskas, Zakrzewski,
Coleman, and Duda; Dick Maginot, James Wensits, Dale
Balsbaugh, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
Council Member Puzzello noted that the purpose of the
meeting was to review Bill No: 86-88 which would appropriate
$18, 000. 00 from the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement Fund
for purposes of completion of the sound reinforcement system
and to refinish the stage deck at the Morris Civic
Auditorium. -.
Mr. Dale Balsbaugh stated that the sound system would be the
best in the midwest. The capabilities of the system would
allow the Morris Civic to turn into a "recording studio" .
He noted that the purchase of the equipment was begun last
year when a matching grant from the Broadway Theatre League
was given so that the equipment could be purchased in time
for the International Summer Special Olympics. $16, 800. 00
would complete the installation of the sound system and
$1,200.00 would refinish the stage deck.
Following favorable comments, Councilmen Lee Slavinskas made
a motion seconded by Councilmen Steve Luecke that Bill No.
86-88 be recommended favorably to Council. The motion
passed.
There being no further business to come before the committee
the meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Council Member Ann Puzzello, Chair Person
Personnel and Finance Committee
