At its March 8, 2022 meeting, the Board of Public Works awarded the above referenced
bid to you in the amount of $158,440.50. Enclosed please find a signed Bid/Proposal form.
Please forward the following documents in one submittal by March 22, 2022 to my
attention for Board of Public Works approval at lhensley@southbendin.gov:
1) One (1) signed original of the Public Works Contract (enclosed)
2) Labor & Material Payment Bond
3) Performance Bond (125% of Bid Amount)
4) Certificate of Insurance naming the City of South Bend as an additional insured
5) Item #4 for all subcontractors that you use

On February 17, 2022, one (1) open market quote was received for the Studebaker Water Fountain
Improvements project. The quote was from Selge Construction for $158,440.50. Engineering
reached out to thirteen (13) contractors for requests for quotes. Results yielded four (4) rejections,
one (1) quote and eight (8) contractors declined to respond. Selge’s quote met all the project
specifications including the MWBE requirements.
It is requested the Board of Public Works award the Studebaker Water Fountain
Improvements project to Selge Construction for the contract price of $158,440.50.
