Vacation Committee was held in the Council Informal Meeting Room. Persons in attendance included: Councilmen Serge, Puzzello, Crone, Voorde, Beck, Brayboy, Zakrzewski, and Paszek; Joseph Kernan, Attorney John Ford, Mr. John Blower, Members of the News Media, and Kathleen- Cekanski-Farrand. The Chairman of the Committee John Voorde called the meeting to order at 5 :00 p.m. He noted that the purpose of the meeting was to review two bills sent to Committee for recommendation. He then called upon Mr. Ford to present the bills. Mr. Ford reviewed Bill No 133-83 which would vacate an east-west alley near Minor, Cedar, St. Peter and St. Louis Streets. He also reviewed Bill No 134-83 which would vacate the east-west alley in the half-block area by South Bend Avenue, Cedar and St. Louis Streets. He noted that his client the St. Joseph Medical Center, Inc. is desirous of the alley vacations in order to provide adequate parking for two (2) physicians' office building in that immediate area He further noted that a dedication of a six by fifty-four foot parcel of property would be dedicated as a permanent easement and right-of-way .which would effect Bill No 134-83. Following discussion by the Committee, 'the Council Attorney was directed to prepare the necessary amendment to. Bill No 134-83 for incorporation. Councilman Beck made a motion seconded by Councilman Puzzello that Bill No 133-33, and Bill No 134-83 as amended be recommended favorably to Council. The motion passed unanimously.
