Letter of Intent: Keana for President
My name is Keana Baylis, this will be my upcoming 2nd
year on the Inclusive Procurement Board, and I am
running for President. I am running for President because I
believe I have the experience and passion necessary to
guide our board to achieve our overall goals.
My experience comes from being on previous boards in
high positions such as the Vice-Chair for the Regional
Advisory Council in Indiana. My passion of leadership and
community involvement is paramount. I’ve served South
Bend as a Minority Women Small Business for over 7 years.
I’ve been inducted in the National Society of Leadership
and Success. Additionally, I’m a Success Educator
assisting start-ups and expansion of other business
worldwide.
I have three primary goals/innovative ideas for my
position: focusing on Community Outreach,
Communication, and Leadership
1. Community Outreach – getting the city more
involved in small minority business ownership. We
can start with building our mailing list and contact
information and providing more active presence in
South Bend events.
2. Active Communication – I believe we can improve
upon being ensuring our community is
knowledgeable about Inclusive Procurement’s
duties and functions. We want the residents of
South Bend and Michiana to see what our board
has to offer specifically regarding the certification
process. I also believe that the board has a unique
opportunity to further the knowledge base of its
minority residents. With the hopes of providing
employment and business revenue for generations
to come.
3. Leadership – I would guide the team of board
members, collaborating to achieve board
objectives. Achieving delegation and
knowledgeable skills to meet the goal of assisting
small businesses
I believe that I am the best candidate for this role, and I
sincerely hope the council chooses me. Thank you for
