The November 5, 1984 meeting of the Public Safety Committee
was called to order by its chairman Robert Taylor at 5 : 15 D .M. in
the Council informal meeting room.
Persons in attendance included Councilmen Crone , Serge, Paszek,
Taylor, Braboy, Zakrzewski, Voorde, Beck, and Puzzello; Mike Vance
and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
Mike Vance then reviewed Bill No. 119-84 which would
appropriate revenue: sharing money to pay the 1984 Police and Fire
Pension costs . He noted the bill should be amended from $1,600,000
to $1,485 ,000. Next year the City would be getting approximately
$1,500, 000, which would be received quarterly and invested.
Following discussion by the Committee, Councilman Zakrzewski
made a motion seconded by Councilman Beck that the amended version
of Bill No 119-84 be recommended favorably. The motion passed
unanimously.
' Councilman Taylor then noted that he Plans to initiate a
zoning ordinance to re-zone the properties on Ireland and Hawbaker
from A-Residential to B-Residential. He . then showed the properties
in question on an aerial map. There being no futher business the
meeting was- adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
