DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
The -July 9, 1984 meeting •of the Human Resources and Economic
Development Committee was called to order by its chairman Councilman
Eugenia Braboy at 3 :30 p.m. in the Council informal meeting room.
Persons in attendance included:.Councilmen Beck, Zakrzewski, Paszek,
Puzzello, Braboy, Taylor and Voorde; Hedy Robinson, and Kathleen Cekanski-
Farrand, and Carol Sheetz.
Councilman Braboy noted that the purpose of the meeting was to
review Resolution 9A which requests real property tax abatement for parcels=6
and 8 in the Monroe Sample area. Councilman Braboy handed out a copy of the
report dated July 3rd from the Economic Development Committee (copy attached) .
Hedy Robinson noted that the lots would be used for a future office ,
warehouse, and expansion of the Slutsky-Peltz Plumbing and Heating Company,
Inc. The building will be 20 ,000 square feet and will be constructed by
J & G Realty and Insurance Company and then it will be leased to Slutsky-
Peltz. Five new permit jobs would be created and the total project cost
would be $785 ,000. 00. The property is located in the Monroe-Sample
Development area and also within a tax incremental financing allocation area
•
Following discussion by the Committee, Councilman Taylor made a
motion seconded by Councilman Beck that Resolution 9A go to Council favorably.
The motion passed unanimously.

Councilman Braboy then reviewed the ground rules for her committee
meeting set for 4:00 which would be addressing possible changes to the con.troll€
use ordinance.
Councilman Voorde inquired as to when there would be further
discussion on the tax abatement ordinance, and was informed. by Councilman
Braboy that she had requested certain written information from Jon Hunt
which would address small business incentive proganms;. As soon as this
information is received and reviewed another meeting would be called. She
also reminded the Council to put forth any ideas that they might have in
writing.
Councilman Beck then made a motion, seconded by Councilman Taylor that
the meeting be adjourned. The meeting was adjourned at 4 :00.
