The June 27, 1983 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation Committee was called
to order at 2 : 30 p.m. by its Chairman, Councilman John Voorde in the Council
informal meeting room.
Persons in attendance included Councilmen Zielinski, Voorde, Harris,
Szymkowiak, and Beck, John Leszczynski, Jim Wensits, Dick Maginot, and Kathleen
Cekanski-Farrand.
The purpose of the meeting was to review Bill No. 41-83 which would vacate
the first east-west alley south of Napoleon Street.
It was noted that-the Board of Public Works gave a favorable recommendation
to the alley vacation subject to a written access agreement between the owners
of Lot 61 and 62. It was also noted that favorable comments for the vacation
were 'received from the Engineering Department, Area Plan Commission, and
Community Development.
Following further discussion by the Committee as to the need to vacate
this property, Councilman Harris made a motion seconded by Councilman
Szymkowiak that Bill No. 41-83 be recommended favorably to Council. The
motion passed unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the meeting
was adjourned at 2 :45 p.m.

***The minutes of the June 13, 1983 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation Committee,
should be corrected in paragraph four. The Board of Public Works gave no
recommendation on ,the proposed vacation listed in Bill No. 38-83, rather than
the unfavorable recommendation listed in the minutes.
