The February 28, 1983 meeting of the Zoning and Vacation Committee
was called to order at 5 :15 p.m. in the Council informal meeting room by its
Chairman, Councilman John Harris, Jr.
Persons in attendance included Councilmen Beck, McGann, Harris, and
Szymkowiak; and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. •
Councilman Harris noted that the purpose of the meeting was to review
Bill No. 13-83 which is set for public hearing at tonight' s council meeting.
It is a Bill to vacate the first north-south alley west of Olive Street running
between Poland and Dunham. The petitioners are Phillip Berndt and David
Michaud. It is to allow off street parking near the Olive . Street area.
_ Councilman Harris reported that the Board of Public Works at their
meeting of February 21, 1983 recommended that the alley be vacated.
Following discussion by the Committee a motion was duly made and
seconded that Bill No. 13-83 go to Council favorably. The motion passed 3-0.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, the
meeting was adjourned at 5 :20 p.m.
