Uhl fig Gnomon Qlounril of Or OJttg of if Poutll Pttd: PERSONNEL AND FINANCE COMMITTEE
The October 10, 1983 meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee
was called to order by its Chairman, Councilman Joseph Serge at 5 :00 p.m. in
the Council Informal Meeting Room.
,Persons in attendance were Councilmen Serge, Beck, Szymkowiak, Zielinski,
Harris, Crone, Voorde; Larry Johnson, Jim Wensits, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand
Councilman Serge noted that the purpose of the meeting was to review
Bill No. 110-83 which would transfer $7, 738. 00 between various accounts
within the Equal Opportunity Housing Authority of the Human Rights Commission.
Mr. Johnson noted-that the transfer of the HUD appropriation would help
in the efficiency of his office. They are planning to purchase an IBM
computer which would be separate from the City' s computer system.
Councilman Szymkowiak thought that the department was running well without
a computer. Councilman Voorde noted that within the proposed CD Budget
the $50, 000 request was being cut to $13, 500. Mr. Johnson noted that this
will result in additional clerical personnel not being hired and various
educational programs would not be implemented.
Upon further discussion, Councilman Zielinski seconded by Councilman
Harris that Bill No. 110-83 go to Council favorably. The motion passed
unanimously.
There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting
was adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Joseph Serge, Chairman
