HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-25-82 Human Resources & Economic Development OInmmitttt tinrz c3ln flit Tmmutmn alountil atilt fll1tig of'nutli 3htnd: HUMAN RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE The January 25, 1982 meeting of the Human Resources and Economic Development Committee was called to order by its chairman, Councilman John Voorde at 6: oo p.m. in the Council Meeting Room. . Persons in attendance included Councilmen: McGann, Taylor ,Voorde, and Szymkowiak; Pat McMahon, Brian Montgomery, Marchmont Kovas , and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the tax abatement petition filed by P.A. I . Properties for the 600 block of East Bronson. Councilman Voorde reviewed the petition with the Committee . He noted that it received a favorable recommendation from the Redevelopment Commission on January 15th. Pat McMahon, Director of Redevelopment , stated that this would be the fourth parcel in the area which would be sold. He noted that he believes that it meets all of the criteria and was especially pleased that this company was desiring to locate within the Monroe-Sample . development area. Mr. Brian Montgomery, a representative of P.A. I . Properties stated that this would be a new office building and a manufacturing building which would be leased by Plast-Add, Inc. Following discussion by the Committee, Councilman Taylor made a motion seconded by CouncilmanMcGann that the property located at the 600 block of East Bronson receive a favorable recommendation therefore qualifying as an Urban Development area. The motion passed unamaniously. There being no further business to come before the Committee the meeting was adjourned at 6: 15 p .m.
