The July 13, 1981, meeting of the Public Safety Committee was called
to order by its Chairman, Councilman Robert G. Taylor at approximately
3:10 p.m, in the Council meeting room.
Persons in attendance included: Councilmen Szymkowiak, Crone, Voorde,
Taylor, Zielinski, and McGann; and Fire. Chief Brassel.

Councilman Taylor announced that the purpose of the meeting was to
discuss fire department equipment.
The cost of a new pumper would be approximately $126, 000. 00. Chief
Brassel stated that he had no objection to a study being made Of the
feasibility of using a mini-pumper. However, he stated that a mini-pumper
now would be of no use to the department. The possible use of mini-pumpers
would entail an overall study of the manpower needed; possible reorganizations;
and fire fighting capabilities.
The ,committee discussed this matter further without taking any formal
action regarding a recommendation:
