The October .26, 1981 meeting of the Public Works Committee was
called to order by its Chairman, Councilman Joseph T. Serge at 5 : 30 p.m.
in the Council meeting room.
Persons in attendance included, Councilmen: Serge, Zielinski, and
Szymkowiak, and City Engineer John Leszczynski.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Bill No. 102 which would
appropriate $540, 000 from Local Road and Street Funds to be used for the
Colfax Avenue Budget Project.
Mr. Leszczynski presented the bill. He noted that the project was
79% stated funded, and 21% local funded. The budget was inspected in 1972
and found to need repairs for safety reasons, and would be expanded to four-
lanes. Although there are not sufficient funds in the account presently,
he assured the committee that at the time of expenditure in 1982, there
would be a sufficient balance.
Councilman Zielinski made a motion, seconded by Councilman
Szymkowiak to recommend the Bill favorable. The motion passed 3-0. There
being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 5 : 45 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Joseph T. Serge
Chairman
