HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-09-81 Residential Neighborhood Committee • flummtttrr Erpnrt (Ju tie Cum= Tomtit of tilt Mitg of'oath limb: RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD COMMITTEE The November 9, 1981 meeting of the Residential Neighborhood Committee was called to order by its Chairman, Councilman Beverlie Beck at 5: 00 p.m. in the Council meeting room. Persons in attendance included: Councilmen: Voorde, Taylor, Zielinski, Crone,Beck, McGann, Serge, and Szymkowiak; John Leszczynski, Stephen Drendall, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. Councilman Beck stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss Bill NO. 122-81 regarding the vacation of a portion of Sunnymede Avenue. • Councilman Beck then called upon Mr. Leszczynski to give an update on the action taken by the Board of Public Works at this mornings meeting. He noted that the Board gave a favorable recommendation subject to Holy Cross Health Systems joining in the proposed vacation. He stated that the recommendation would be unfavorable unless the joined in. He noted that the Clerk to the Board had sent a copy. of the minutes of this meeting to all council members. Mr. Drendall, the petitioner,then reviewed a diagram of the proposed vacation with the Committee and passed out several pictures of the area in question. He -stated that he had attempted to contact Holy Cross Health Systems. He expressed his concern about possible employee traffic emptying into a residential neighborhood and the potential harm that could result. Following further discussion, Councilman Voorde made a motion seconded by Councilman Taylor that this Bill have a public hearing this evening and then continue it to the next council meeting on November 23, 1981 to enable the petitioner to contact Holy Cross Health Systems. The motion unanimously passed. Councilman Beck requested the Council Attorney to send a letter to Holy Cross Health Systems advising them of this action.
