Bond of Staples & Ackerman filed and approved and contract signed for the Emerson avenue Pipe Sewer. Hearing on Declaratory Resolution for Asphalt pavement on LaPorte avenue from Washington street to Colfax avenue and for Brick Pavement on Bridge street was deferred until the first Tuesday in March 190g, at 10 A. M. Bids were received for the following improvements: Park avenue Grade, Curb & Walk k Brick Pavement Ford street Brick pavement Grand View & Cottage Grove aves. Mr. Papezynski absent. Hearing on Assessment Roll for Brick Pavement on Crescent avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 420, deferred until Friday September 6th, 1907, at 10 A. M. Hearing Given on Declaratory Resolutions for Pipe Sewer on Cherry street from the end of the present sewer at Jefferson street to the first alley south of .Jefferson street, Grade, Curb & Walk on Leon Court from Catalpa avenue to Kendall street, under Improvement Resolution lln. 501 & 502 respectively Engineer -filed estimated cost as follows: Cherry street Pipe Sewer .................... 4-8 8,0 0 Leon Court Grade, Curb & Walk ................ $ 9 7 6,0 0 In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore find in each and every case in said improvements that the benefits to the property and to the City of South Rend are equal to the estimated cost of said improvements and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approver... Resolved by the Board of Public Works that notices be published in the South Bend Daily Times on the 4th day of September and onthe llth day of September, 1907, to the effect that this Board will receive bids for said improvements up to 10 A. M. on the 17th day of September 1907, The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Hearing given on Assessment Rolls and final estimates for Brick Pavement on Michigan avenue from the alley west of Johnson street to Olive street; Pipe Sewer on Notre Dame street from Sorin street to City Limits; Cement walk h Curb on Cedar street from Emerick street to Hill sti-eet; Cement Walk & Curb on Coquillard street from Sorin streetto South Bend avenue; Rater Connections on Rush street from Monroe street to Sample street. All under Improveement Resolutions Nos. 4152 354, 405, 427 & 450 respectively. No remonstrantors appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said rolls filed August 21st, 1907, is benefitted in the amount of assessments as shovm on said rolls, and the Board further find that the assessment roll filed August 21st, 1907, and the final estimate allowed August 21st, 1907, should be and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. 779 Wednesday September 4th, 1907. M. Hearing given on Rolls showing awards of damages and assessments of benefits in the matter of -the opening of Kline street across the L. S. h M. S. R. R. and the opening of Chajjin street, Catalpa avenue, Kendall street and Scott street across the S. S. & S. R. R. under Condemnation Resolutions Nos. 312 322 332 34 & 35 respectively. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore find that the said rolls filed August220,,1907, should be and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. The Board met in regular session at 10 A. M. All members present. Hearing on Assessment Roll for Brick Pavement on Crescent avenue,under Improvement Resolution No. 420, was deferred until September loth, 1907, at 10 A.M. Contracts were awarded as follows: Ford street, Brick Pavement, G. C. Sageman (Barr Block) Cottage Grove avenue & Grand View Avenue, Brick Pavement, C. H. Defrees, (Culver) In the matter of the condemnation of. a building at No. 905, W. Division street. All action in said matter is hereby RESCINDED, as said building has been moved from the above mentioned premises. Communication received -from the Board of Public Safety, recommending that the plans of Young & Shambleau and C. A. Brehmer be accepted for the two new Hose Houses which are to be erected in the very near future. Remonstrance filed September 5th, 1-'07, against the St. Peter street Grade, Curb & Walk Improvement. Contract signed with Sam Mosiman for the erection of an iron fence on top of the wall of the West Race. Contract price $240.00 Contract awarded to Hoban & Roach for the Park avenue Grade, Curb, Walk & Brick Pavement Improvement. Clinton Block to be used. n Remonstrance filed by the New -Jersey, Indiana & Ill. R. R. Co against the award of damages in the opening of Olive stret and Sample street and ask for $5,000.00 damages in said matter. u:ril Final hearing in the matter of the assessment of benefits and award of damages for the opening of Olive and Sample streets, under Condemnation Resolution No. 302 was deferred until Wednesday September 27th, 1907, at 10 A. M. Hearing on Assessment Roll for the Crescent avenue Brick Pavement , under Improve- ment Resolution No. 420, was confirmed. No remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said rolls filed August 21,st, 1907, is benefitted in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls, and the Board further find that the P•ssessment roll filed August 212 1907, and the final estimate allowed August 21, 19072 Rhould be and the same is he^eby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Notice of proposlas for bids for the execution of the above work shall be published on the 14th day of September and on the 21st day of September 1907, in the South Bend Daily Times. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an improvement be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows: Brick Pavement and Cement Talks and Curbs on East LaSalle avenue from Michigan street to Hydraulic avenue, excepting the new River bridbe. Said improvement shall be known and designated as "THE EAST LASALLE.AVENUE BRICK PAVEMENT AND WALK & CURB IMPROVEMENT" and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 14th day of September and on the 21st day of September 1907, in the South Bend Daily Times: This Board will give.a hearing on this resolution in its office in the City Hall on the 24th day of September 1907, at 10 A. M. A Bond or Bonds to be issued to the Contractor in payment for such work where the property owner signs waiver required, as according to law. The Board having fully considered said.ma tter, decide that the damages and benefits are equal and that none of the real estate mentioned in the assessment rolls herein is specificially benefitted or. damaged and said assessment rolls are here -upon adopted.
