IMPROVFIVIENT RESOLUTION. NO., 478. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the Cityr=:of South Bend, Indiana: That an improvement be made.of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows: Brick Pavement on Broadway street from Lafayette street to Carroll street. Said improvement shall be known and designated as "THE BROADWAY STREET BRICK PAVEMENT.IMPROV&AENT" and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 3rd day of July add on the loth day of July, 1907, in the South Bend Daily Times. This Board,will give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 23rd day of July 1907, at 7:15 P. M. ft A Bond or Bonds to be issued to the Contractor in payment for such work where the property owner signs waiver required, as according to law. Said improvement shall be known and designated as "THE BARTLETT STREET GRADE CURB & WALK IMPROVEMENT" and shall be.constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared herewith. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an Improvement be made of the kind,.size, location and terminal points as follows: 21 water connections of Broadway street from Lafayette street to Carroll str-et. Said improvement shall be known and designated as "THE BROADWAY STREET WATER CONNECTION IMPROVEMENT" and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of proposals for bids for the execution of the above work shall be published on the 10th day of July and on the 17th day Of July 19070 in the South Bend Daily Times. The Board having under consideration the assessments of benefits and awards of lama es under Condemnation Resolution No. 25, adopted on the 21st day of December, 1907, and the Board rind that Lot 25 in Wilson's Sub of B.O.L 94 oymed by the heirs of Sarah Duffield is damaged in the amount of $950.00; and that the right of way of the I. I. & I. R. R. Co. as described on the assessment roll herein is benefitted in the sum of $950.00 all as shown on the said roll. Come now the said. I. I. & I. R. R. Co. by F. J. Lewis Meyer, Attorney and assent to said assessment and pay into the office of the City Controller the said sum of $950.00 in full payment of said assessment and come also the said heirs of Sarah Duffield by Slick & Slick Attorneys and accept said award and a warrant for the same and in ratification of the same tender their Quit Claim Deed for the land taken under said resolution which said deed is now accepted. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That :• the following described property be appropriated for use of said city: Olive street to be opened and extended for its full width of sixty (60) feet from the north right of way of the New Jersey, Indiana & Illinois Railroad to the south line of Sample street extended west, corssing and extending ever the right of way of the New Jersey, Indiana & Illinois R. R. the Grand Trunk Western Ry and the Indiana, Illinois & Iowa Ry. (now called the C. I. & S. Ry.) Also opening and estending Sample street westerly over and across the right of way of said railroads its full,width of sixty-six (66) feet. The following described property may be injuriously of beneficially affected by such approprsation: The Grand Trunk Western Ry Co. The Chicago, Indiana & Southern Ry. Co. Petition filed for light at cornerof Michigan avenue & LaSalle avenue. City Attorney instructed to notify the Union Asphalt Construction Company to refrain from operating its plant where it is,now located at the Vandaiia "Y" near the South Rend Pulley Works. Leases were filed by James Oliver and the Oliver Chilled Plow Works for a Hose House site at the Corner of Sample and Arnold streets and for a site for the Police Boat house on the point between the St. Joe River and the West Rase. Same were accepted and ordred recorded. Propositions were submitted by George H. & Mary E. Alward and the Realty & Construction Company for sites for an Isolation Hospital. George H. & Diary* E. Alward offered a site for $5,000.00 and the Realty & Construction Company offered a site for $3000.00. The proposition of the Realty & Construction Company was accepted, and referred to the Council for its action thereon. Bids were received for the following improvements: Alley N. of LaSalle ave.
