equipment and for the payment of such other fees and expenses
attributable to the operation of a professional baseball team at
the Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:

Dear President Beck:
The enclosed ordinances are being filed for first reading at the
October 27 , 1986 Council meeting. One appropriates $107,000. 00 from
the Coveleski Stadium Fund to cover expenses associated with the
equiping and constructing of the facility including any other
miscellaneous expenses associated with its completion.
Revenues are available within the Coveleski Stadium Fund as the
City has recently received its cable television franchise fee
associated with the first six months of 1986.
The other ordinance appropriates $133,000.00 to various accounts
within the General Park Fund. These funds are needed to complete
operations for 1986 and reflect additional costs incurred in the Park
Department labor account, additional supplies and materials needed,
and additional contractual services needed in the area of veternary
services, landfill charges, and household laundry and cleaning
supplies. In addition, we are asking for an additional appropriation
in other contractual services for equipment costs, construction costs
and other fees and expenses related to the construction and operation
of the Coveleski Stadium.

The revenue to fund these proposed additional appropriations is
available due to 1985 expenses being lower than anticipated and 1986
revenues being higher than was originally estimated.
