Hearing on Improvement Resolution No. for Asphalt on LaPorte avenue was deferred until Tuesday June 4th, 19072 at 10 A. M. Bids were received and referred to the Engineer for tabulation for Pipe Sewer on Pagin street; cement Walks on E. Wayne street; Walks & Curbs on Cedar street, Grade, Curb & walk on St. Peter street and also on Miller Court. All under improvement Rdsolutions Nos. 371, 406, 405, 407 & 404 respectively. Bond of Harry N. Barnes filed and approved and contract signed for the Michigan avenue Brick Pavement. Bonds of Staples & Ackerman were filed and approved and contract signed for the Howard street Pipe Sewer. Bond of Hoban & Roach filed and approved and contract sigmmed for the E. Bronson street Brick Pavement. South Bena Fire Department were given permission to use the Stand Pipe July 4th 1907, and to use same from date to July 4th for advertising purposes. To be used under the direction of the Superintendent of the Water Department. President. Wednesday April 3rd. 1907. The Board met in regular session at'10 A. M. All members present. St: Peter street Guude, Curb & Walk John Siders Petition filed for Grade, Curb & Walk on S. Carroll street. In the matter of the paving of East Washington street from Emrick street to Eddy street, under Improvement Resolution No. 416.- The Board being advised in said matter, decide that the specifications for said work shall be amended so as to read Brick.pavement with Asphalt filler. Be it resolved that notices be published in the South Bend Daily Times on the 6th day of April and on the 13th day of April, 1907, to the effect that this Board will receive bids for said improvements up to 10 a.m. on the 23rd day of April, 1907. In the matter of the hearing on the amounts of assassements and awards of damages In thelvacation of a part of Robertson street and the allay between lots 6 & 7 to Eliot Tutts Addition, under Vacation --Resolution No. 45. No remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore declare said assessment roll ratified, confirmed add approved. President. Hearing given on Improvement Resolutions for Macadam, Curb & Walk on Anderson Court from Park avenue to end of Court; Grade, Curb & Walk on Merry avenue from Grant street to Washington street; Grade, Curb & Walk on King street from Portage avenue to to Blaine avenue; Sidewalks '& Curbing on the west side of Marion Buul-evard from Navarre street to Bartlett street; Walk & Curb on Coquillard street from South ,8;Venue_to Sorin street. All under Improvement Resolutions Nos. 423, 424; 4259 426 & 427 resp. The Board therefore find in each and every case in said improvements that the benefits to the property and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of said improvements and the same are hereby in all things, ratified, confirmed and approved. Be it resived that notices be published in the South Bend Daily Times on the llth day of April and on the 18th day of April, 1907, to the effect that this Board will receive bids for said improvements tip to 10 A. Fries filed and approved and.contracts signed for the Cedar street Walk & Curb and the E. Wayne street walks. IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION No. 436. Resolved -by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana That an improvement be mad+f the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows: Brick Pavement on East Washington street and Artesian avenue from Mill street to lot 215 in South Bend Mfg Co's addition: Washington street improvement to include Cement Walks & Curbing. Said improvement shall be known and designated as "THE EAST WASHINGTON STREET & ARTESIAN AVENUE BRICK PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENT" and shall be constructed according to the plwis and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of this resolution shal be published.on the 15th day of April and on the 22nd day of April 1907, in the South Bend Daily Times. This Board will give a hearing on•this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 7th day of May, 19072 at 7:15 P. LU0 The Board met in regular session at.10 A. M. All members present. Bond of B. T. Vanderkarr & Son filed and approved and contract signed for the Miller Coubt Grade, Curb & Walk. Bond of John Siders filed and approved and contract signed for the St. Peter street Grade, Curb & Walk. The Board having under consideration the matter of benefits and damages under Vacation Resolution No. 41, adopted on the 13th day or February and confirmed on the 6th day of March, 1906, and the Board having before ;gt the petition of IUgargarettia Lederer & John N. Lederer owners of all the real estate abutting the alley in question on the west side thereof, wherein they agree that the real estate in said alley should go to the propertynon the east side thereof from which said alley was originally given. It is therefore ordered and adjudged that the real estate on the west side of said vacated alley sustain no damages in the said vacation and that the real estate of Mary J. Hinkle as described in the Vacation Resolution is benefitted in the amount of Five Dollars, and Whereas the said Lederers have relinquished any claim for damages in the vacation and whereas said Mary J. Hinkle comes now before the board and pays the said sum of Five Dollars. as herein assessed and waives notice and hearing on the same, further -proceedings in the matter are unnecessary and the vacation is hereby concluded. Hearing on Improvement Resolution No. 431 for Pipe Sewer on Rush street from Monroe street to 300 ft South, was deferred until Friday April 19th, 19072 at 10 A. M. Hearingiven'on Improvement Resolutions for Brick Pavement on Miami street from Vistula avenue to Bowman street; Brick Pavement on Woodward avenue & Claifornia street from Hudson avenue to Leland avenue; Brick pavement on Rush street,f rom Monroe street to Sample street, All under Improvement resolutions nos. 42S. 429 & 430 respectively. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore find in each and every case in said improvements that the benefits to the property and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of said improvements and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Resolved by the Board of Nbli c Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an improvement be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows: 23 water connections on Rush street from Monroe street to Sample street as per a report adopted by the Common Council March 25th, 1907- Said improvement shall be known and designated as "THE RUSH STREET WATER CONNECTION IMPROVEMENT" and shall be constructed according to the plans and spedifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of proposals for bids for the execution of the above work shall be published'on the 19th day of April and on the 25th day of Aril 1907, in the South Bend Daily Times. This Board will receive bids up to 10 a. m. on the 30th day of Apri1,1907. Adopted this 17th day of April 1907: BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 451. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an improvement be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows: 48 water connections and 3 sewer connections on Woodward avenue & California street from Leland avenue to Hudson avenue, as per a report adopted by the Common Council March 25th, 1907. Said improvement shall be known and designated as "THE WOODWARD AVENUE AND CALIFORNIA STREET SEWER & WATER CONNECTION IMPROVEMENT" and shall bE constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City.Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of proposals for bids for the execution of the above work sh&ll be published on the l8th day of April and on the 25th day of 'April 19017, in the South Bend Daily Times. Friday April 19th, 1 The Board met in regular session at 10 A. M. All members present. Engineer filed assessment rell for grading on St. Louis street from South Bend avenue to Corby street, under Improvement Resolution no. 413. Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published for six consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Times, Commencing on the 19th day of April 1907, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of.;such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 7th day of May, 1907, at 7:15 P.M. Resolved further,that the entire work under the above contracts be accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. 'Notice of this resolutionshall be published on the 19th day o' April 1907, in the.South Bend Daily Times, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office in the City Hall on the 7th day of May 1907, at 7:15 P. M. . Contract signed with Thomas Williams for water connections on west Jefferson street from Chapin street to Walnut street. Hearing given on Declaratory resolution for Pipe Sewer on Rush street f rom Monroe street South 300 feet, under ii4provement Resolution No. 431. In the above matter no further remonstrators appeared and no further remonstran- ces were filed. All other remonstrances over -ruled. The Board therefore find in each and every case in said improvements that the benefits to the property and to the city of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of said improvements and.the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved.
