AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING $150, 000 .00
AMONG VARIOUS ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE
DIVISION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
In order to assure the efficient and timely utilization
of Community Development Block Grant Funds and that the immediate
needs of specific activities are met, transfers among accounts are
necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, BUT IT ORDAINED BY Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
Section I. The sum of $150, 000 . 00 is hereby transferred
among accounts as set forth below.
Reduce the following accounts:

CD85-301 . 4 Monroe Park Improvements $ 50, 000
CD85-402 . 1 Fredrickson Park 50, 000
CD85-1101 Indirect Cost 37, 000
CD86-601 Redevelopment Administration 13 , 000
Total $150, 000
Increase the following accounts:

CD87-102 Housing Rehabilitation Fund $ 50, 000
CD87-106 . 4 Monroe Park Housing 50, 000
CD87-402 Fredrickson Park 50, 000
Total $150, 000
SECTION II. No costs will be incurred or funds expended
for any of the activities in this ordinance prior to an official
release of funds received from the United States Department of
Housing and Urban Development as may be required.
SECTION III. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approved
by the Mayor.

Dear Council Member:
The attached bill submitted for your consideration and
approval will transfer $150, 000 . 00 among CD accounts. Detailed
descriptions of the proposed changes follow:
1 . The funds from Monroe Park Improvements, Indirect
Costs, and Redevelopment Administration represent the
$100, 000 reprogramming necessary to fund the 1987
programs as set out in the final statement. These
funds are put into Monroe Park Housing and the Housing
Rehabilitation Fund.
2. The funds from 1985 for Fredrickson Park have not been
used, pending receipt of additional monies to carry out
the project. With the_ recent sale of some of the
Fredrickson Estate assets, those funds should be in
place to construct the park in 1987 . This transfer
merely rolls these funds from Program Year 1985 to
1987 .
