2021 SB Stat Key Takeaways
• 21 CP Project Portfolio Updates
o Surveys – Both surveys are entering implementation and distribution phases. Preliminary data is expected to flow in through Q4.
o Post-Incident Reporting – Two approaches have spawned from post-incident reporting work: one focusing on a generalized improvement of documenting and the other looking at tailored changes to the three top priority processes. Both approaches are in implementation phases.
• Gun Violence Report
o Starting in November, a regular briefing on Gun Violence will be done at an intermittent interval.
o The flow of the briefing is set to be 1) announcements 2) tracking metrics 3) initiatives addressing gun violence and 4) open forum.
o Tracking metrics discussed were number of gun violence incidents, number of criminally assaulted shooting victims, and number of illegal guns recovered.
• Quarterly Tracking Statistics
o Group Violence Intervention – Percentage of Custom Notification contacts that return as suspects has remaining stable, where the number of victims has increased from 8% to 10%. Number of victims have been trending upward overtime.
o Crime + Community – Serious crimes have decreased from Q2 to Q3 with the largest number of incidents occurring in District 2.
o Training + Recruitment – Officers able to retire has decreased from Q2 to Q3 but, this is due to retirements taking place. 11% of trainings in the last 3 years are toward topics of interest.
