ORDINANCE NO. 7 (09 - �
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $4, 000. 00 IN THE
MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM IMPROVEMENT FUND TO
ACCOUNT NO. 399. 0 BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES, REPAIRS
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
The Morris Civic Auditorium is owned by the City of South
Bend and is managed under the control of the Century Center Board of
Managers .
The Century Center Board of Managers has determined that it
is necessary for the operation of the Morris Civic Auditorium that the
exterior display cases and associated electrical corrections be
repaired , that the boiler tube and boiler switch be replaced and that
boiler insulation be installed , and that the vent covers protruding
from the roof be repaired and reinstalled . The Board of Managers has
further determined that an estimated cost for the repairs of such items
is $4, 000. 00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The amount of $4, 000.00 is hereby appropriated
and ordered set apart in the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement Fund
to be used as follows :
Account No. 360. 0 Buildings and Structures, Repairs - $4, 000. 00
Exterior Display Cases and Associated
Electrical Repairs - $700. 00
Boiler Tube & Switch Replacement and
Insulation - $2, 300.00
Roof Repairs & Reinstallation of Vent Covers
Protruding from the Roof - $1, 000.00
Total Additional Appropriation $4, 000. 00
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the
Mayor.

RE: MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM IMPROVEMENTS:
REQUEST FOR ORDINANCE
It is requested that you consider and give favorable approval to the ordinance
appropriating $4,000.00 from the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement Account.
Since the Morris becomes very busy beginning October 9, we must be prepared to
provide heat/comfort to our clients. Therefore, this is presented for urgent
handling.
Also, because of the recent wind storm, the vent covers on the roof sustained
damage and must be repaired and reinstalled immediately.
