Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published for six consecutive days in.the South Bend Daily.Times, commencing on the 9th day of July 1906, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 17th day of July 1906, at 7:15 P. M. Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contracts be accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 9th day of July 1906, in the South Bend Daily Times, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office in the City Hall on the 17th day of July 1906, at 7:15 P. SPECIAL MEETING TUESDAY EVENING JULY LOTH, 1906, AT 7:15 P. M. The Board met in Special session at 7:15 P. M. Mr. Papczynski absent. Hearing given on Assessment Rolls and final estimates for Sewer Connections on Columbia street'from Wayne street to the south end of Columbia street,Water Connections on West Washington street from College street to Olive street; Water Connections on E -Jefferson street from Vistula avenue to the bridge; Grading on Dayton street from Marietta street to the Alley East of High street; Cement sidewalk on Eddy street & Mishawaka avenue from the Grand Trunk R.R. to Sample street bridge. All under Improvement Resolutions Nos. 346, 333, 3322 303 & 318 respectively. No remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said rolls filed June 19th and June 22. 19067 is benefitted in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls and the Board further find that the assessment rolls filed June 19th and June 22nd, 1906, and the final estimates allowed June 19th and June 22nd, 1906, should be and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. The Board therefore fine in 'each and every case in said improvements that the benefits to the property and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of said improvements and the same are hereby in all thin�7s ratified, confirmed and approved. Be it resolved that notices be published in the South Bend Daily Times on the 12 th day of July and on the 19th day of July 1906, Ao the effect that this Board will receiv bids for said improvements up to 10 a. m. on the-31st.day of July_ 1906. The Park Commissioner was instructed to secure bank$ music for Sunday afternoon concerts at the City Parks. Concerts to be held from 3 P. 11. to 5 P. M. alternat- ely at Howard and Leeper Parks. Petition filed by the 'South Bend Woolen Company asking permission to erect a new dye house at the west end of their plant to be built on piles and piers over the St. Joseph River. VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 42. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That It is desirable to vacate the following: A strip of land 9-1/2 feet wide from east to west lying adjacent to the -east side of lot 71 Original Plat and extending from the North line of Jefferson street to the South line of Vistula avenue. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially effected by such vacation: East part of lot 71 Original Plat. Begin at a point 1 chain 113 link east of the south west corner of said lot 71; thence east with the north line of Jeff- erson street, 1 chain 49 2/3 links to a post set in west line of alley and for south east corner of said lot; thence north with west line of alley 39 links, to a post in south line of Vistula avenue, thence north 50 degrees west 1 chain 39 1/2 links to a post; thence south 18 degrees 30 min. west, 1 chain 35 links to the place of beginning. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an improvement be made of the kind, size, loeational and terminal points as follows: Fourteen sewer and fifteen water connections on N. Cushing street from Michigan avenue to LaSalle avenue, according to a report adopted by the Common Council on the llth day of June 1906. Said improvement shall be known and designated as "THE.CUSHING STREET SEWER AND WATER CONNECTION IMPROVEMENT" and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Brehmer donating a portion of ground to the City at the corner of Notre Dame avenue and South Pend avenue. Engineer reported grade on Sixth street in Mayr's Plat. Same was &pproved. Plat of W..K. McHenry's Sub -Division of part of Large lot 14 in Samuel L. Cottrell's lst addition of inlots and outlots to the town of Lowell, filed and approved.
