Petition filed for Asphalt Pavement on East Washington street from Emerick street to Eddy street. Referred to the Engineer for Specifications. Remonstrance filed against the Marietta street Brick Pavement from Vistula ave- nue to Sample street. Bids were opened and referred to the Engineer for tabulation for Grade, Curb Walk on Golden avenue; Pipe Sewer on Johnson street & Michigan avenue; and Allen street Pipe Sewer; Sewer and Water Connections on S. Main street E. Jefferson street, W. Washington street , Cushing street and Leland avenue. The Barber Asphalt Company asked permission to withdraw their bids on the Asphalt work. Same was granted. The Board therefore find in each and every case in said improvements that the benefits to they property and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of said improve- ments and the same are.hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Be it resolved that notices be published in the South Bead Daily Times on the loth day of May and on the 17th day of May 1906, to the effect that this Board will receive bids for said improvements up to 10 A. Lafayette street from Sample street to Broadway street was RESCINDED. IMPROVE14ENT RESOLUTION NO. 342. Resolved by the Board of Public Worlds of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an improvement resolution be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows; Asphalt pavement on South Lafayette street from Sample street to Broadway street. Said improvement shall be known and designated as "THE SOUTH LAFAYETTE STREET ASPHALT PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENT" and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 12th day of May and on the 19th day of May 1906, in the South Bend Daily Times. This board will give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 29th day of May 1906, at 10 A. M. A Bond or Bonds to be issued to the Contractor in payment for such work where the property owner signs waiver required as according to law. Referred to the Engineer for specifications. Hearing as to the amounts of assessments for benefits and damages under Condemnation Resolution No. 22 was deferred until Friday May l9th2 1906, at 10 A. M. Remonstrance filed by Reuben Chreist,- Amanda Six and James Strouder against .the Amount of their assessments under Con Resolution No. 22. Engineer reported grade -on Marine street. Same was approved. Remonstrance filed against the Marietta street Brick Pavement. Same was over -ruled. Engineer was instructed to prepare specifications for a pipe sewer on Broadway street from Main street to a point west of Michigan street. South Bend Electric Company were notified to move the light now located about 100 feet North of Navarre street on Lafayette street to the intersection of Horatio court. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an improvement be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows: Fifty-eight water connections on S. Lafayette street from Sample street to Broadway street, according to a report submitted to the Common Council and adopted on the 23rd day of April 1906. Said improvement shall be known and designated as "THE SOUTH LAFAYETTE STREET WATER CONNECTION IMPROVEMENT" and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of proposals for bids for the execution of the above work shall be published on.the 19th day of May and on the 26th day of May 1906, in the south Bend Daily Times. Said improvement shall be known and designated as "THE COLUMBIA STREET SEWER AND WRIER CONNECTION IMPROVEMENT" and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer filed herewith. Notice of proposals for bids for the execution of the .above work.shall be published on the 19th day of May and on the 26th day of May 1906, in the South Bend Daily Times. Same was approved. Petition filed by the Indiana Lumber & Mfg Co asl.ing that they be compelled to,put in but one tap on their W. Washington street property. Same was granted. Remonstrance against the amount of assessments on the Condemnation Resolution No. 22. was over -ruled.. Hearing on Assessment roll for benefits and damages in the matter of the appropriation of property for the opening of an alley along the City Cemetery from Elm street west, under�Condemnation Resolution No.' 22. No remonstrators €0peared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said rolls filed April 20th, 1906, are benefitted and damaged respectively in the amount as shown on said roll, and the Board further find that the assessment roll filed April 20th, 1906, should be and the same is hereby in -all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Hearing given on Declaratory Resolution for Cement Curb & 'Walk on Parry street from Division street to the West line of Eddy street, under Declaratory Resolution No. 336. In the, -above matter no remonstrators appeard and no remonstrances were filed.. The Board therefore find in each and every case in said improvements that the bene fits to the property and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of said improvements and the same are hereby i} all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an improvement be made of the kin, size, location and terminal°points as follows: A Brick (block) pavement on the alley south of Washington street from Lafayette street to Court street. Said improvement shall be known and designates as "THE ALLEY SOUTH OF WASHINGTON STREET BRICK PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENT" and shall be'constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engy-ineer, filed herewith. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 24th day of May and on the 31st day of May 1906, in the South Bend Daily Times. This board will give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 12th day of June1906, at 7:15 P. 14.
