The Board met in regular session at10 A. M. All members present.
Engineer filed Assessment Rolls and Final Estimates for thefollowing improvements,
to wit
Brick Pavement on E. LaSalle avenue from St. Joseph River to Eddy street, Pipe
Sewer on Harrison avenue from Michigan avenue.to F`uerbringer street, Grade, Curb & Walk
on Marion Boulevard, Cement sidewalk on Johnson street from Bertrand street to Longley
avenue. All under Improvement Resolutions No.s. 2482 2722 268 & 270 respectively.
Resolved that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published for six consecutie
days in the South Bend Daily Times and the South Bend Daily Tribune, commencing on the
2nd day of September, 19052 stating, that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of
such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 19th day of September, 1905
at 7:15 P. M.
Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contracts be accepted and
approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. -Notice of this resolution shall be
published on the 2nd day of September, 19051, in the South Bend Daily Times and the South
Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of
such work at its office in the City Hall on the 19th day of September, 1905 at 7:15 p. m.

Hearing'on Declaratory -Resolution for the Brick Pavement on the lst alley
east of St. Joseph Street, deferred until Tuesday September 5th, 19059 at 10 A. M.
Hearing given on Vacation Resolution No. 34, adopted on the 13th day of
December,1904, vacating the following described property, -
That part of Linden avenue lying between the w6st side of Anthony.street and the
west end of Kaley's Second Addition to the City of South Bend.
In the above matter no remonstrators a gpeared and no remonstrances were filed.
The Board therefore deblarelthe above descr bed property in all things vacated.
IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO.,291.
Resolved by the Board of Public Works -of the City.of South Bend, Indiana: That
an improvement be.made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows:
A Brick (block) pavement on the alley between Main and Michigan streets running
North and South from South street to the first alley South of South street..
Said improvement shall be known and designated as "THE ALLEY BRICK PAVEMENT
WEST OF MICHIGAN STREET" and shall'be constructed.according.to the plans and
specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filelherewith. Notice of this
resolution shall be published on the 5th day of September and on the 12th day of
September, 1.905, in the South Bend daily Times. This Board will give a hearing
on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on thel9th day of September, 1905,
at 7:15 P. M.
A Bond or Bonds to be issued to the Contractor for payment for such work where
the property owners sign the waiver required as according to law.

Capt Nicar and Mr. Papczynski voted to sustain the remonstrance and Mr. Mclnerny
voted in favor of the Resolution. Remonstrance sustained and Resolution rescinded.

Petition filed for Walks on S. Mich street from Clavert to Ewing avenue
Clerk was instructed to advertise for Bids for No.8'and No..9 Hose Houses, Bids to be
received up to 10 am. on the 26th day of September, 1905.
Communication received from the Keogen Construction Company, regarding the very poor
condition of the roadbed on Portage avenue. Referred to the Engineer.
Hearing given on the Oak street Pipe Sewer,Ded:laratory Resolution, from Cottage
Grove avenue to Scott street. And the Board being advised in the matter find that said
specifications be amended to read as follows,from Scott street to a point about ten feet
West of the first alley West of Scott street, and from Cottage Grove avenue to a point
about 10 :feet East of the first Alley east of Cottage Grove avenue. The Board further
finds that the benefits to the property affected and to the City of South Bend exceeds
the cost of said improvement and said resolution as amended should be and the same is
heeeby in .all things ratified, confirmed and approved.

Petition filed for an(Electric Light at the corner of. Lindsey and Allen
streets. Same was ordered in.
IMPRO"MENT RESOLUTION NO. 292.
Resolved by the Board of Public marks of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an
improvement be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows; Pipe
Sewer on Bronson street from Lafayette street to Main street. Said.improvement
shall be known and designated as "THE BRONSON STREET PIPE SEWER" and shall be constru-
cted according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer,
filed herewith. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 6th day of
September and on the 13th day of September, 1905,,in the South Bend Daily Times. This
Board will give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the
19th day of September, 1905, at 7:15 P. M.

over their crossing at Division street.

an improvement be made of the -kind, size, location and terminal points as follows:

Remonstrance filed against the Grade, Curb & Walk onHarger Court.
IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 295.
Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That an
improvement be made of the kind size, location and terminal points as'follows: A Brick
(block) pavement from Rex street to Leland avenue on Ashland avenue. Said improvement
shall be known and designated as "THE ASHLAND AVENUE BRICK PAVEMENT" and shall be
constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer,
filed herewith. Notice of this resolution shall be published on thel4th day of September
and on the 21st day of September 19052 in the South Bend Daily Times. This Board
will give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the 26th day
of September, 19052 at 7:15 P. M.

In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed.
The Board therefore find in each and every case in said improvements that the benefits
to the property and.to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of
said improvements and the same.are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and
approved.

of September, 1905, The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 39.-
Resoleed by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That it
is desirable to vacate the following:
A parcel of land heretofore forming a part of Columbia street, bounded by aline
running as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the original center line of
Columbia street, and the northerly line of Vistula avenue and running thence north 13
degrees 33 min. east one hundred seventy-five and seven tenths (175.7) feet to the north
west corner of lot 109 in the Original Plat of.South Bend, thence south on.the weet.line of
said lot 109, eighty-nine and seven tenths (99.7) feet, thence south 28 degrees 12 min.
west ninety-two (92) feet to the place of beginning. Containing forty-seven one
thousands of an acre more or less. All bearings in this description are taken from
the center line of Columbia street as a north and south line.
The following property may be injuriously or beneficially effected by such vacation:
Part of Lot 109 Original Plat of the City of South Bend. Jacob S. Kerner.
Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 23rd day of September and on the
130th day of September, 1905 in the South Bend Daily Times.
This Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 6th day of October, 19051, at 10 a.m.
will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by these
proceedings.

lst alley West of Drain street from Colfax avenue North the length of the Elks property
owing to the construction of the Elks Temple.
Clerk was instructed to notify Architects to submit plans and specifications for
the plumbing and wiring of the No 3 and No. 8 Hose Houses.

IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 297.
Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That
an improvement be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows:
Grade, Curb & Walk on Kerr street from Chapin street to Catalpa avenue. Said
improvement shall be known and designated as "THE KERR STREET GRADE CURB--& WALK" and
shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications prepared by the City
Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of this resolution and.Oroposals for bids
for the execution of the above work shall be published on the 27th day of September
and on the 4th day of October, 1905, in the South Bend Daily Times. This Board will
give a hearing on this resolution at its office in the City Hall on the loth day
of October, 1905, at 10 A. M. and will receive bids up to 10 a. m. on the llth
day of October, 1905.
A Bond or Bonds to .be issued to the Contractor in payment for such work where
the property owner signs the waiver required as according to haw.
Adopted this 26th day of September, 1905.

The Board met in Special Session at 7:15 P. M. All members present.
Hearing given on Declaratory resolutions for Brick Pavement on Ashland avenue
from Rex street to Leland avenue, a'aSidewalk on Dayton street from Marietta street
to Rush street.All under Improvement resolutions Nos. 295 & 296.
Engineer filed estimated cost as follows
Ashland avenue Brick Pavement. $2,700.00
Dayton street Sidewalks 175.00
In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed
The Board therefore find in each and every case in said improvements that the
benefits to the property and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated
cost of said improvements and the same are hereby in all things ratified, Confirmed
and approved.
Be it resolved that notices he published in the South Bend Daily Times on the
27th day of September and on the 4th day of October, 1905, to the effect that this
Board will receive bids for said improvements up to 10 a. m. on the llth day of
October, 1905, The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
The Board met in regular session at 10 A. M. All members present.

Water Connections on W. Tutt street from Lafayette street to the Chicago & South Bend R. R
Co's tracks., Said improvement shall be known and designated as "THE W. TUTT STREET
SEWER AND WATER CONNECTIONS" and shall be constructed according to the plans and speci—
fications prepared by the City Civil Engineer filed herewith. Provided, however that this
resolution shall be subject to the approval of the Common Council of the City of South
Bend as provided by law.

filed herewith. Provided, however that this resolution shall be subject to the approval
of the Co mmon Council of the City of South Bend as provided by law.

The Board met.in regular session at 10 A. M. All members present.
Light ordered in at the corner of Bartlett street and Marion Boulevard.
Petition filed for an•electric light at the intersection of Wayne street and'
the lst alley West of Taylor street. Same was ordered installed.
Contract signed with C..L. Copp for the construction of a timber crib at the
end of -the LaSalle avenue sewer.
Bond of James Nelson filed and approved for No. 2 Hose House Alley Brick Pave-
ment. Contract signed for same.
South Bend Electric Company were given permission to erect a steel tower at
the intersection of St. Louis street or the first alley east of St. Louis street,
and the St. Joseph River, from which to suspend their wires which cross the river.
IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 301.
Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That
an improvement be made of the kind, size, location and terminal points as follows:
Pipe Sewer on West Jefferson street from Chapin street to a point some 90 Feet
east of Laurel street. Said improvement shall be known and designated as the "WEST
JEFFERSON STREET PIPE SEWER" and shall be constructed according to the pland and
specifications prepared by the City Civil Engineer, filed herewith. Notice of this
resolution shall be published on the 30th day of September and on the 7th day of.
October, 1905, in the South Bend Daily Times. This Board will give a hearing on
this resolution at its office in the City•Hall on the 17th day of October, 1905
at 7:15 P. M.
A Bond or Bonds to be issued to the contractor in payment for such work where
