SUBJECT: PRESS RELEASE: JOIN COUNCILMEMBER DAVIS JR. FOR A PRESS CONFERENCE TUESDAY AT 11 A.M. DATE: MONDAY OCTOBER 4, 2021 CONTACT: COUNCILMEMBER HENRY DAVIS, JR., HDAVIS@SOUTHBENDIN.GOV, 574-300-5241 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The City of South Bend will adopt one (1) of its largest budgets in history at roughly $381 million dollars. Residents living west of the St. Joe River and in historically underserved communities have repeatedly asked the Common Council and James Mueller’s administration to share how much of the budget is going to their neighborhoods to no avail. Councilman Davis will join residents at a press conference tomorrow, October 5th, at 11 a.m. to discuss their concerns for their neighborhoods in the 2nd District. The press conference will be held at the County-City Building. The councilman will also announce the 2nd in a series of town halls events around the community and economic development west of the river. On Wednesday, October 13th at 6 p.m., Councilman Henry Davis, Jr.’s District 2 office, in partnership with the Kennedy Park Neighborhood Association, LaSalle Area Neighborhood Alliance, Black Lives Matter South Bend, Monroe Park Neighborhood Association, and the Lincoln-Bendix Neighborhood Association will hold an event at the Civil Rights Heritage Center to address those concerns. The public is invited to attend. Councilman, Henry Davis Jr. 2nd District, City of South Bend, Indiana ###
