Division of Engineering, Division of Utilities, and Office of Diversity and Inclusion reviewed the documents and finds the information correct and complete. Below is the bid summary. (South Bend, Indiana) $148,000.00 1.18% $1,746.40 24.32 $35,997.00 GRAND RIVER CONSTRUCTION (Grandville, Michigan) $164,500.00 0.52% $850.00 36.47% $59,995.00 MBE-WBE Good Faith Efforts were reviewed for all bidders. It was determined after extensive review by Engineering and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion that good faith efforts were met by all contractors that submitted bids. Award to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder will not meet the MBE goal, but good faith efforts were met. Limited scope of work for MBE and WBE companies for this project is a challenge. WBE well exceeds the goal due to the equipment costs for the project are nearly half of the project cost. The lowest price was provided which is both within the Division of Utilities project budget and lower than the Engineer’s Estimate. The Division of Engineering, Division of Utilities and Office of Diversity and Inclusion agree that the lowest bidder, Selge Construction Company, Inc., met good faith efforts based on our audit of the documentation and correspondence with MBE and WBE companies during quote review. The Division of Engineering recommends the award of the the contract for Project No. 120-017 CSO 18 Backwater Valve Replacement to Selge Construction Company, Inc. for the Total Base Bid of $124,980.00.
