AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
INDIANA, AMENDING ORDINANCE N0.9801-07 TO CHANGE THE FUND FROM
WHICH FUNDS ARE TO BE APPROPRIATED FROM THE MOTOR VEHICLE
HIGHWAY FUND (#202) TO MAJOR MOVES FUND (#412)
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT
On October 22, 2007 this Common Council passed Ordinance No. 9801-07 which
appropriated One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) from Motor Vehicle Highway Fund (#202) for
the expansion of Douglas Road from State Road 23 to the Mishawaka City limits. This
appropriation should actually have been made from Major Moves Fund (#412), and this
Ordinance makes that revision.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA as follows
Section I. Ordinance No. 9801-07 is amended to reflect that One Million Dollars
($1,000,000) shall be appropriated from Major Moves Fund (#412), and not from Motor Vehicle
Highway Fund (#202), for the acquisition and construction of the project expanding State Road
23 to the Mishawaka City limits.
Section II. Ordinance No. 9801-07 is in all other ways reaffirmed.
Section III. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by
the Common Council and Approval by the Mayor.

Dear Mr. Rouse:
Enclosed is an ordinance for filing with the Common Council. This ordinance amends
previously enacted Ordinance No. 9801-07 by changing the Fund out of which the State Road 23
construction project appropriation is to be made. The correct Fund is Major Moves (#412), and
not the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund (#202). I will present this Bill to the Common Council at
its Committee meeting and at public hearing.
