The August 11,2003 meeting of the Parks,Recreation, Cultural Arts and Entertainment Committee
was called to order by its Chairperson, Council Member Sean Coleman at 4:55 p.m. in the Council
Informal Meeting Room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members Aranowski, Kelly, Pfeifer, Varner, Coleman,
Kirsits and Kuspa; City Controller Rick 011ett, Terry Bland of the *OW) X11[ trihlrittt and
Council Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand.
Council Member Coleman noted that the meeting had been called to provide a brief update on the
21st Century Parks Initiative. He noted that he had met with Mayor Luecke and City Controller
Rick 011ett. They have"promised to take the initiative under consideration and to report back in a
timely manner".
Mr. 011ett stated that Park Superintendent Phil St. Clair was on vacation last week and that the
Mayor is on vacation this week. As a result they have not had the opportunity to meet since the
initial meeting with Council Member Coleman.
There being no further business to come before the Committee, Council Member Coleman
adjourned the meeting at 4:57 p.m.
