Q ommittt **port:
rkg, Atartation, Cultural trtz anti. enttrtainnttnt QCommitt
The June 24, 2002 meeting of the Parks, Recreation, Cultural Arts and Entertainment Committee
was called to order by its Chairperson Council Member Sean Coleman at 5:25 pm in the Council
Informal Meeting Room.
Persons in attendance included Council Members: Ujdak, Pfeifer, Aranowski, Varner, Coleman,
Kelly, Kirsits, White and King; Terry Bland of the ginith 5:S*U gribunt, and Kathleen
Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney.
Council Member Coleman noted that the purpose of the meeting was to receive an overview of the
2002 Zoo Master Plan and to take a tour of the zoo. Council Member Coleman suggested that the
Committee meet at the main entrance of the zoo where the zoo staff would meet the Council.
A brief recess for necessary travel to the zoo then took place. Council Member Coleman
reconvened the Parks, Recreation, Cultural Arts and Entertainment Committee at the Potawatomi
Zoo. A presentation and question &answer period then took place, followed by a brief tour. Due
to the lateness of the hour and a 6:45 start of the Informal Meeting of the Common Council at the
County-City Building, the tour was abbreviated before reaching the Veterinarian Hospital.
Council Member Coleman thanked the Potawatomi Zoo staff for accommodating the Council and
then adjourned the meeting at 6:40 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Council Member Sean Coleman, Chairperson
Parks,Recreation, Cultural Arts and Entertainment Committee
KCF:kmf
