NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: Section I. The sum of $40,000.00 from the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Site Assessment Grant within Fund 209 for site assessment activities in the City of South Bend is hereby appropriated. Section II. The sum of $6,000.00 from the Indiana Finance Authority Federal Matching Grant Incentive program as a match to the grant mentioned in Section I within Fund 209 for site assessment activities in the City of South Bend is hereby appropriated. Section III. Jefferson Boulevard South Bend, 1N 46601 Dear Council Members: The attached bill for your consideration and approval will appropriate $40,000 from a United States Environmental Protection Agency Brownfield Site Assessment Grant and $6,000 from the Indiana Finance Authority Federal Matching Grant Incentive program within Fund 209 for site assessment activities in the City of South Bend. The funds will be used to continue our citywide assessment program on sites impacted by petroleum products. This could include former gas stations on our commercial strips as well as other petroleum sites. I will attend the Council meeting when the ordinance is considered.
