AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $11,950.00 FROM
THE MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM IMPROVEMENT
FUND FOR PURCHASE OF REPAIRS AND
IMPROVEMENT AT THE MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
The Morris Civic Auditorium is owned by the City of South
Bend and is managed by the Century Center Board of Managers.
The Century Center Board of Managers has determined that
it is in the best public interest to purchase repairs and
equipment, as described below.
The Morris Civic Auditorium is in need of new electrical
service for the projection and spotlight booths, electrical service
and lighting for the recently completed loading bridge, emergency
repair of the southeast corner of the roof, and replacement seat
covers. Money is available for these purposes in the Morris Civic
Auditorium Improvement Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows:
SECTION I. The amount of $11,950.00 is hereby
appropriated and ordered set apart out of the Morris Civic
Auditorium Improvement Fund for the purchase of the following
described repairs and equipment:
Electrical Service to the Projection
and Spotlight Booth $ 7,300. 00
Electrical Service and Lighting for Hoist
and Work Area on Loading Bridge 1,900.00
Repair on Southeast Corner of
Auditorium Roof 1,000 .00
Replacement Auditorium Seat Covers 1,750.00
$ 11,950.00
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and
approval by the Mayor.

The item for the roof repair should be considered an emergency:: request due to the
immediate nature of the work and to prevent any further damage to the interior.
