AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF
$350,000. 00 FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND, INDIANA TO ACCOUNT NO. 4255.0 OTHER
MATERIALS IN THE AMOUNT OF $150,000.00 AND ACCOUNT
NO. 4399. 0 OTHER CONTRACTUALS IN THE AMOUNT OF
$200 ,000. 00.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
The General Fund has available funds because of lower
expenditures than anticipated in 1986 and higher than anticipated
revenues in 1987. It is necessary to appropriate funds in order to
meet existing movement of vehicles. The improvements to the streets
and alleys include paving materials and other repairs on various
streets and alleys within the City of South Bend.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I . The following sum of money is hereby ordered set
apart from the General Fund. This appropriation is to be
administered by the Department of Public Works as set forth below:

Total $350,000.00
SECTION II . This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and approved by the

Re: Street and Alley Materials
Dear Councilmen:
We are requesting the appropriation of $350 ,000 from the
City general fund for use in the alley hard surface program and
other miscellaneous street repairs . Included in these additional
street repairs is the paving of Sample Street and Jefferson
Boulevard.
