AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $1,200.00 FROM THE
ARSON PROTECTION FUND TO ACCOUNT NO. 293 . 000.16.04429 .00
SAID ACCOUNT BEING ENTITLED "OTHER EQUIPMENT. "
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
WHEREAS, funds were received from the State of Indiana for
training and equipment of arson investigators in the City of South
Bend Fire Department and funds are now needed for such purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I . The Sum of $1,200. 00 is hereby appropriated
from the Arson Protection Fund No. 293 and will be transferred to
Account No. 293 . 000. 16. 04429 . 00 entitled "Other Equipment" to be
administered by the Fire Department for training and equipment of
arson investigators.
SECTION II. That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and
approval by the Mayor.

Honorable Council Members:
We have, in the past, applied to the State for financial
assistance for the Arson Bureau. The financial assistance
that we received has been placed in a dedicated fund for
use by the Arson Bureau and this fund now totals $1 , 248 . 00.
The attached ordinance proposes a twelve hundred dollar
appropriation to allow the Arson Bureau to use the money.
Please appropriate the sum of $1 ,200 to account:
293. 000. 16.04429 . 00 Other Equipment
