AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $19 , 300.00 FROM THE
MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM IMPROVEMENT FUND TO
ACCOUNT NO. 429 .0 AND ACCOUNT NO. 416 . 0
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
The Morris Civic Auditorium is owned by the City of South
Bend and is managed under the control of the Century Center Board of
Managers .
The Century Center Board of Managers has determined that
it is necessary for the operation of the Morris Civic Auditorium that a
Loading Bridge be constructed and a Portable Lift be purchased . The
Board of Managers has further determined that an estimated cost for
these items is $19 , 300. 00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The amount of $19 , 300.00 is hereby
appropriated and ordered set apart in the Morris Civic Auditorium
Improvement Fund to be used as follows :
Account No. 416 .0 Loading Bridge - $16 , 600.00
Account No. 429 .0 Portable Lift - 2,800.00
Total Additional Appropriation $19 , 300. 00
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by
the Mayor. /

RE : MORRIS CIVIC AUDITORIUM IMPROVEMENTS
REQUEST FOR ORDINANCE
It is requested that you consider and give favorable approval to the ordinance
appropriating $19,300.00 from the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement Account.
For the loading bridge (Account No. 416.0), the Broadway Theatre League is providing
an amount of $5,000.00 of the total $16,600.00. This amount of $5,000.00 will be
deposited into the Morris Improvement Account.
For the portable lift (Acct. No. 429.0), the South Bend Heritage Foundation will
turn over to the Century Center Board of Managers an amount $2,250.00, (which is
the balance of the private sector contribution designated for improvements at
the Palais Royale facility utilized by the Morris) to be added to the $2800.00
from the Morris Improvement Account to purchase the equipment.
