SUBJECT: Budget Request: Dubail Streetscape Improvements

*Funds are subject to the City Controller's determination of availability; if funds are unavailable, as solely determined by the City Controller,
then the authorization of the expenditure of such funds shall be void and of no effect.
Purpose of Request:
Staff requests the Redevelopment Commission's approval of $ 1,300,000 from the South Side
Redevelopment Area TIF to be budgeted for both residual design and construction of Dubail
streetscape improvements as identified within the Southeast neighborhood master revitalization
plan. Project construction should commence this year and be completed no later than spring
2022.
The master plan process identified a priority need for improved Dubail Street corridor
appearance through replacement of those curbs and sidewalks in poor condition while adding
trees and handicapped ramps, and driveways. Curb bump outs will be added at intersections to
allow for safer pedestrian crossings, calm traffic, and protect parked vehicles.
