AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $66,000. 00 FROM THE
FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT FUND COMMONLY REFERRED
TO AS THE GENERAL REVENUE SHARING TRUST FUND TO
ACCOUNT 4399.0 OTHER CONTRACTUALS TO PAY THE
1987 PLEDGE TO PROJECT FUTURE BY THE CITY OF
SOUTH BEND.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
Funds are now needed to complete this years commitment to Project
Future. Monies are available within the General Revenue Sharing
Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That the sum of $66,000. 00 is hereby appropriated for
the year 1987 from the Federal Assistance Grant commonly referred to
as the General Revenue Sharing Trust Fund. This appropriation is to
be administered by the Department of Administration and Finance and
will be distributed as set forth below:

SECTION II. That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval
by the Mayor.

Dear President Serge:
The enclosed ordinance appropriating $66,000.00 from the General
Revenue Sharing Trust Fund is being filed for first reading at the
June 22 , 1-987 Council meeting.
The monies when appropriated will allow the City of South Bend to
continue its pledge to the Project Future program. If you will
recall, the City originally had budgeted these funds in the 1987
operating budget for the Civil City. Upon the Council' s advice
through the Personnel and Finance Committee, during the budgeting
process, these monies were removed from the budget and it was
suggested that the administration should appropriate revenue sharing
funds for this expenditure during 1987. At this time, the City needs
to proceed with that appropriation so that the pledge may be
maintained.
